Why I Do What I Do

​

I have been blessed to work with students from kindergarteners to high schoolers in LA County, California and Boston, Massachusetts. 

Each child is like an Easter egg—you never know how each lesson will unfold! Seeing their growth and how they incorporate the skills they learn from playing instruments into their daily lives brings me so much joy!

​Music is a language—a language that creates space to process thoughts and emotions and facilitates communication with others.

​It is fascinating to see how music travels through time and plays a role in major historical events. When I learn a piece, I gain a glimpse into the composer’s life, the social norms of that era, historical events that may have influenced or inspired the composition, the development of instruments, and many other revelations. It is truly intriguing!
